Happy Friday, everyone!!
Here is the latest underwater wahoo painting!
The client wanted to get this painting for her husband as a birthday gift. She wanted to incorporate the charter boat that her husbands grandpa once owned in Fort Myers Beach, FL. She also said that her husband loved to catch wahoo. With those ideas in mind, this is what I created for them.

How great is this: Did you see my previous post on the Allure 8901 Wedding dress a husband bought his wife for their 1 year wedding anniversary? WELL, the wife contacted me 1 hour after him, saying that she would like to get HIM a painting for their 1 year wedding anniversary…without knowing that he was getting her one too! I believe that this is an example of true soul mates!
They had gone to Aruba for their honeymoon, and Gia, the wife, wanted to incorporate some special memories from Aruba into a split-view painting- The Giwi Tress, Black Stone Beach, the shipwreck that they dove, and a hidden “G+W”.
Here are the results!

Custom wedding dress paintings are my absolute favorite things to create for brides!
This one was no exception!!
Do you remember the “Looe Key” underwater grouper and coral painting that a bride bought her her husband as a wedding gift? For their 1 Year wedding anniversary, the husband bought his wife a custom wedding gown painting as her gift! (See my next post to see what she got him!)
The background color is a blush pink, which I picked up from her blush bridesmaids dresses.
The wedding dress is the Allure 8901 Style Wedding Dress.

IT IS MY FAVORITE TIME OF THE YEAR!!! That is right! I just finished my two day painting event for Third On Canvas 2013! The weather in Florida was absolutely PERFECT for the event! I was lucky enough to paint next to Popo Flanigan, who is so nice and was a joy to work next to.
For last year’s Third On Canvas event, I painted orchids and got label as “The Orchid Lady”. In keeping with the name, I wanted to do orchids again this year. However, I stepped up my game this year and introduced RESIN to the artwork!
I started by painting a wood board a Sea Foam green color, then poured on resin, painted my acrylic orchids on top of this resin coat, and then added a top coat of resin to the painting. This gave a great “floating” effect, with a natural shadow.
Here are some photos of my White Orchid Painting on Resin, and my Purple Orchid Painting, as well as some fun photos from the day!

It has been a long time coming! I have waited to post this painting for many months now, and I am so happy it is complete, and up in its new home! My great friends, Jenny and Mark, really wanted a custom snook painting. They wanted one that was lurking in the mangroves, one or two that were in action. I fish with my husband when I can, but I wouldn’t call myself a fisherman by any means. That being said, I wanted to do a lot of research to understand the snooks environment. I researched the mangroves, the sea floor, the water reflections, the way the snook’s body moved, and researched what they ate. When it comes to custom art, most people have a picture they want copied, but since this was from scratch, I have to admit that I painted this painting, and then painted it again. I must have done the surface reflection 5+ times! I would work on the painting, and then just stop for weeks because something was missing or didn’t feel right, and I didn’t want to continue without figuring it out first. When I completed the painting, I just KNEW it was done! It just felt right! I hope you enjoy the painting as much as I do!

This has been a post that I have been wanting to post ALL summer long!! Now the time has arrived!! Do Me A Favor Event Concepts, a Naples’ company specializing in custom invitations, stationery, welcome gifts, and elaborate details, asked me to create artwork for a custom wedding logo, that would be used on custom napkins, coffee mugs, wedding invitations, water bottles, favors, and much more! The concept was to use lilies in a heart shape design that was unique to the Bride and Groom’s personalities. The designs were then used on all things involved in this very special wedding! The design created for all of the custom wedding invitations for the Naples, Florida wedding, were hand painted!
This was a very special and unique opportunity for me and I am excited to show you some of the final products below!
If you are interested in customizing your wedding or event, call the Do Me A Favor girls: (239) 594-7223 and Tell them Alexis sent you!

I am so very honored to be given the opportunity to painting a birthday gift for the “President North America” of Christian Dior Perfumes and Cosmetics – Terry Darland. What a wonderful woman! I was asked by the account executive of Christian Dior, Lourdes Vazquez, to recreate a childhood memory for Terry. I found out that one of her favorite memories growing up was visiting her grandmother down in Naples, Florida, and watching the sunset from the Naples Pier.
Since the pier is nice and long, I wanted to do a panoramic painting on a 12″ x 30′ gallery wrapped canvas.
I started out doing the sky and clouds, then on to the water, and lastly, the Naples Pier.
I drove up to Saks Fifth Avenue in Sarasota on 11.11.11 (great wish come true!) to present this gift to her at her luncheon.
I hope that you all enjoy these photos of the Naples Pier Painting at Sunset as much as I enjoyed creating it!

Love this idea! Click on the above picture, and you will see the custom wooden sign, created out of the business logo of Do Me A Favor Event Concepts!
This 10″ x 10″ wooden sign was created for the DMAF girls to hang in their office by yours truly, Custom Art By Alexis!
After recreating their business logo onto the wooden sign, I screwed in metal hooks so that the sign could hang inside or outside of their office for their clients to see!
Leave some feedback and let me know what you think!
