Third On Canvas in Naples, FL 2015

Each year, artist from all around the US gather in Naples, FL for the 2 day painting event, Third on Canvas. It is held on 3rd Street South and along the paths to the beach. On the following Sunday, the paintings get put into auction to benefit The David Lawrence Center.

This year, I was located between 12th and 13th Ave close to the concierge booth.

Wiggins Pass Boat Painting

On the first day, it POURED 90% of the day. I still managed to paint my first painting, “Testa Dura”.

It is 18″ x 24″, acrylics on canvas painting of our old boat, Testa Dura, anchored on a sand bar in Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park at sunset.

On the second day, I painted The Naples Pier, Naples, FL. It is 11″ x 14″ and is AVAILABLE for purchase!

AHH!!! I cannot believe my baby girl turned one years old already!! My heart breaks!!! She is my best friend and I love watching her grow every day!

We had a beach bash for her with family and friends, and I of course had to create some special touches for her party!

Here are some details below:

SMASH CAKE SESSION!

It was a rainy afternoon on the day of her birthday, so I setup she smash cake session in her bedroom (Thank Goodness for tile floors!)

Let’s start with some Etsy finds first, because I love to support fellow handmade crafters! I decided to go back to my latin roots and create her an Anchor Piñata! I customized it with her name on it!

I also made a custom anchor corn hole game set for the party! I love this! I can’t wait to use it at all our parties and beach outings.

I also created her a 1 year birthday felt crown

IT IS MY FAVORITE TIME OF THE YEAR!!! That is right! I just finished my two day painting event for Third On Canvas 2013! The weather in Florida was absolutely PERFECT for the event! I was lucky enough to paint next to Popo Flanigan, who is so nice and was a joy to work next to.

For last year’s Third On Canvas event, I painted orchids and got label as “The Orchid Lady”. In keeping with the name, I wanted to do orchids again this year. However, I stepped up my game this year and introduced RESIN to the artwork!

I started by painting a wood board a Sea Foam green color, then poured on resin, painted my acrylic orchids on top of this resin coat, and then added a top coat of resin to the painting. This gave a great “floating” effect, with a natural shadow.

This has been a post that I have been wanting to post ALL summer long!! Now the time has arrived!! Do Me A Favor Event Concepts, a Naples’ company specializing in custom invitations, stationery, welcome gifts, and elaborate details, asked me to create artwork for a custom wedding logo, that would be used on custom napkins, coffee mugs, wedding invitations, water bottles, favors, and much more! The concept was to use lilies in a heart shape design that was unique to the Bride and Groom’s personalities. The designs were then used on all things involved in this very special wedding! The design created for all of the custom wedding invitations for the Naples, Florida wedding, were hand painted!

This was a very special and unique opportunity for me and I am excited to show you some of the final products below!
